REPUBLIC DAY –A DAY TO BE REMEMBERED AND A DAY OF PATRIOTISM AT XISS

REPUBLIC DAY –A DAY TO BE REMEMBERED AND A DAY OF PATRIOTISM AT XISS

26th of January marks the importance of Republic day all over India and this year we celebrate 68th Republic Day across India. We remember this day as the day on which the Constitution of India came into existence replacing the Government of India act 1935.

The Republic Day celebrations are held at the National Capital region New Delhi presided over the President of India and this year we had Abu Dhabi prince Mohammed bin Sayed Al Nahyan. The LED arrangement at Burj Khalifa Dubai this year shows the great pride of our nation among the other countries.
At Xavier Institute of Social Service Ranchi the 68th republic day was celebrated with great patriotism and nationalism by all the students from various departments. This year, Finance Department organised the forum for republic day celebrations with beautiful decorations in the courtyard. All the professors and students gathered around 8AM and the event started with an introductory speech on the Importance of Republic day. Later, Fr.Director Alexuis Ekka unfurled the national Flag and presided over the meeting. His speech was a deep insight into India and the importance of Republic Day.

On this eventful day we also had delegates from South Korea in the function and XISS is proud to celebrate such events from people abroad who could witness the Indian culture and traditions.
Professor Imago from South Korea spoke about the event appreciating the efforts of our students in organising the event and mentioned how they were very much amazed and inspired by our Indian culture.
XISS celebrations didn’t come to an end within the college boundaries but as always we also celebrated socially.

Republic Day with Slum Dwellers

Slums have always been the characteristics of fast growing economies of the world and in this era of rapid urbanisation, slums become inevitable. In a country like India where a large population of Indians resides in slums, their needs and demands become important for a holistic growth. Perhaps dreams and aspirations of these slum dwellers have been neglected.

An initiative of XISS to indulge students of Rural Management in Urban Field Work has given them this social laboratory to learn. These students have been working hard to bring the change in the life of these slum dwellers. They have spent their two trimesters working with these people and identifying a major problem to intervene.

Republic Day for these students is not only an occasion to cherish being part of a sovereign, democratic and republic country but also to celebrate their achievements. Chunna Bhatta is a slum located in Kokar where Pravah Group celebrated this republic day in there innovative way. Chief Guest for the occasion was Childline Foundation a Non-Government Organisation which works for the child rights and their need. As Pravah Group was working for the Child Rights and their Health, children were the main thrust of this event. Flag hoisting was done by Miss Suradha Kashyap from Childline Foundation. Later on, essence and importance of child rights were explained by Mr Avinash and mothers were encouraged to educate their children and utilise their Right to Education (RTE). The event came to end with few performances by slum kids and prizes were distributed to the best performer.

Overall it was a great republic day event today at XISS and we wish to celebrate many more of such kind with great enthusiasm and patriotism.

Importance of Information Technology in new Era of Development

Importance of Information Technology in new Era of Development

Information Technology is not only a term associated with engineers it has now become a revolution worldwide. The growth and development of information technology has changed the face of global market as a whole and has created a huge impact on the global economy.

The whole economy is now dependent on technology and the development of science and technology has boosted the Indian economy as well.

Information is considered as most precious element of any business organisation, it plays a vital role in taking decision at the higher management level of the organisation.

In the past decades the information technology has also affected the working culture of the organisations. Middle level managers' work has been reduced with the help of computers in the organisation. It also led to the decline of clerical level which has reduced the overall investment.
With time, the cost of technology reduces which is not true in case of human resources. With time the wages and salary keeps increasing, the information technology also used as the factors of production and has taken the place of traditional land and labour.

The recent demonetisation has shown how technology has taken all over the Indian market, how even small vendors are using "PayTM" for monetary transactions how the whole economy is going cashless and how important technology is for us.

Though PGDM in Information Technology would take time to penetrate deep inside the market but there is no doubt that this course would help the students to manage the engineers in more proper way.
