XISS Nurtures

The XISS Difference
Because XISS “Nurtures professionals with a Difference”.

“You cannot shine like a star until you dream with the blazing passion of the night.”
Every day starts with a dream. A dream is the source of inspiration that keeps you passionate about your future. As said by our former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, that dreams are not what you see in sleep rather something that keeps you awake and inspires to achieve your goals. I also dreamt of coming to XISS and with the hard work, dedication and the support of my family I made it to this B-school.

As a B-Tech in Electronics and Communication, when I thought of pursuing MBA, my mind was totally focused and dedicated to XISS. XISS has been a source of continuous growth with its unparalleled social values and its unceasing success. Be it social service or academics XISS has always given wings and sky to everyone associated with tithe values that are the grass roots of this organization keeps its head held high keeps growing as an organization. The mission and vision of XISS keeps you galvanized towards your goal of becoming a ‘Professional with a Difference’.

Getting into XISS is certainly not a cake-walk. When you dream big you have to give your maximum efforts. With every step I took I was coming closer to my dream B-School. Filling the form brought into me the energy to prepare for the entrance and all the forthcoming processes after the exam. The preparations for GD and PI also went together. Going through the newspapers, topics and articles, discussing with other aspirants and continuously practicing as if nothing else existed. Sitting in a group of people preparing and delivering on my GD topics brought the best in me and it certainly helped a lot. The contentment I got after my Selection Process made me more confident for my choice. The environment at XISS Campus added to my thought of being in here will be the best direction for a brighter future.

And.. everything became reality when the results were declared and I got the golden opportunity to be a Xaverian for life. You feel so blessed when all your hard work pays you back.

My first day in XISS was a great experience understanding the core values and its nature. All our mentors addressed us and welcomed us to be a part of this renowned institute. Their guidance will groom and nurture us in the best way.

All of us do not have equal talents but all of us have the equal opportunity to develop our talents. XISS gives us numerous opportunities and a lifetime experience to grow and develop into professionals with a difference. I believe that with the help of all our mentors we will be able to put all our hard work in right direction for a brighter and better future .These two years will be golden years of my life and will help me to emerge with flying colours.

XISS, Thank You.

The XISS Difference

Because XISS “Nurtures Professionals, with a Difference.”

"Luck is like lift , hard work are like stairs. Lift may fail sometime but stairs always take you to the top" . This is not just a mere quote, it is the reality in which everyone should live. For me, joining XISS was like an achievement that was a result of my dedication, perseverance and hard work along with the support of my parents and Gurus.

Joining a B-School is regarded as a cult phenomenon these days and as a BBA graduate, it was dream to join a Top B-School with unparalleled legacy, so the best was XISS to match my dream. Just like everyone has a dream institute, XISS was just like the one which I really wanted to study at. The journey to XISS was like a fairy-tale bliss for me. The excitement, enthusiasm and anxiety cannot be just translated into normal permutation or combination of words. From the filling of the Application Form, practising Group Discussions, interview preparations - every step was like a step towards a golden future.

I still remember there were  many groups created on WhatsApp and Telegram for practising Group discussion specific to XISS. I used be an active member of those groups too. The groups also consisted of several distinguished XISS alumni from the industry who helped the young aspirants for achieving better results. As the day for interview arrived, the excitement turned into nervousness, the zeal turned into a kind of some numbness but at last – all’s well that ends well. Finally when I saw my name in the Merit List of Department of Marketing, I was over the moon. It was a feeling that had great proportions of happiness, joy and I felt my future was secured to a great extent for me. Keeping the notion of success as a journey and not a destination, I then decided upon to carry this to become a successful manager in future and serve my organisation with the best of my efforts.

I had a great experience on the very first day at XISS. The speeches delivered by the faculty members of XISS and alumni were filled with motivation and key insights. The guest speakers too inspired me to become a successful person – professionally as well as personally.

I always have believed that talent does not exist, we are all people with equal potential. It's all about hard work and doing it best and right.
What I experienced in 7 days of my time at XISS and what inspired me the most is that XISS grills students’ minds and hearts, to such an extent that we automatically deliver the best. We have been given the best conducive environment to learn, practice and apply, along with dynamic competition. I hope when I finish my course at XISS, I will emerge with the ‘difference’ in me which XISS talks about and yes, I’m sure of it because XISS “Nurtures Professionals, with a Difference.”

“Ranchi – it makes PGDM better.”

It's been only a week that I have been in this new city all the way from the national capital but Ranchi has already showered me with some generous surprises and the lovely rain, of course. It seems to be the perfect place to be in, before I fall into the vicious circle of corporate life. Ranchi is good not only for your lungs, but also for your taste buds, as the city offers a lot of regional delicacies.

Ranchi, a city which is not found in everyone's 'must- visit' list. But having a glimpse of the city's beauty and culture, they are missing something that one shouldn't. One won't believe until they themselves visit Ranchi and they would surely fall in love with it. It’s a humble blissful retreat for all metro-fanatics.

XISS, Xavier institute of Social service - a name that is now etched with my name for this lifetime. PGDM in Human Resource Management from XISS- dream for some, now reality for me. Whether it is the value laden and disciplined induction program or the surprisingly interactive and jolly professors, the feeling is overwhelmed. And not to forget the fancy 'departmental tea'. The professors, staff and the seniors here are not only helpful, humble, easy to talk to, but highly understanding and cooperative. which is definitely a rare quality these days. The inspiration and guidance that the 2017-2019 batch is bound to get is surely limitless.

Being a first-time hosteller, I am marvelled at the mess food, rooms, strolling on the terrace, the recent India vs Pakistan Cricket Match commotion in the Girl’s Hostel, the late-night gossip sessions, and early morning lines in front of washrooms. Every single thing here - common for some is a new thing to witness for me.

Though I am yet to experience the highly recommended food of the food joints nearby, the scenic places and spots, I am sure enough of the blissful stay and amazing people I am going to have in this city!

Cheers to the upcoming time of our lifetime in XISS, Ranchi!
