XISS Nurtures

The XISS Difference
Because XISS “Nurtures professionals with a Difference”.

“You cannot shine like a star until you dream with the blazing passion of the night.”
Every day starts with a dream. A dream is the source of inspiration that keeps you passionate about your future. As said by our former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, that dreams are not what you see in sleep rather something that keeps you awake and inspires to achieve your goals. I also dreamt of coming to XISS and with the hard work, dedication and the support of my family I made it to this B-school.

As a B-Tech in Electronics and Communication, when I thought of pursuing MBA, my mind was totally focused and dedicated to XISS. XISS has been a source of continuous growth with its unparalleled social values and its unceasing success. Be it social service or academics XISS has always given wings and sky to everyone associated with tithe values that are the grass roots of this organization keeps its head held high keeps growing as an organization. The mission and vision of XISS keeps you galvanized towards your goal of becoming a ‘Professional with a Difference’.

Getting into XISS is certainly not a cake-walk. When you dream big you have to give your maximum efforts. With every step I took I was coming closer to my dream B-School. Filling the form brought into me the energy to prepare for the entrance and all the forthcoming processes after the exam. The preparations for GD and PI also went together. Going through the newspapers, topics and articles, discussing with other aspirants and continuously practicing as if nothing else existed. Sitting in a group of people preparing and delivering on my GD topics brought the best in me and it certainly helped a lot. The contentment I got after my Selection Process made me more confident for my choice. The environment at XISS Campus added to my thought of being in here will be the best direction for a brighter future.

And.. everything became reality when the results were declared and I got the golden opportunity to be a Xaverian for life. You feel so blessed when all your hard work pays you back.

My first day in XISS was a great experience understanding the core values and its nature. All our mentors addressed us and welcomed us to be a part of this renowned institute. Their guidance will groom and nurture us in the best way.

All of us do not have equal talents but all of us have the equal opportunity to develop our talents. XISS gives us numerous opportunities and a lifetime experience to grow and develop into professionals with a difference. I believe that with the help of all our mentors we will be able to put all our hard work in right direction for a brighter and better future .These two years will be golden years of my life and will help me to emerge with flying colours.

XISS, Thank You.

World Environment Day

'WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY'

When there is a busy world in Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things etc we as the occupants of this planet earth find ourselves stuck with our gadgets and do not know about what is happening to our planet outside. Our planet is getting polluted day by day by the emission of CFCs which is causing a great threat to the ozone layer leading to the disastrous Global Warming.

Considering this, the UNITED NATIONS has proposed a campaign for the protection of environment on June 5 1974 which came to be known as “World Environment Day”. This small thought set up a huge platform for almost 143 countries taking part in this campaign every year. Every environment day brings in a new idea on how to conserve our environment and adopt to advocate environmental causes.

Concerning the world environment day the earth anthem is proposed which reads:
“Our Cosmic oasis, cosmic blue pearl
The most beautiful planet in the universe
All the continents and oceans of the world
United we stand as flora and fauna
United we stand as species of one earth
Black, brown, white different colours
We are humans, the earth is our home”

The main reason for celebrating this environment day is to successfully get carbon neutrality, focusing on the forest management, reducing greenhouse effect, promoting bio fuels production by planting on degraded lands, use of hydro power to enhance electricity production and so on.

In a country like India, how far are we taking the environmental issues into concern every now and then we see people littering here and there making the environment polluted.
Though campaigns like “Swacch bharat” which was launched on 2nd October 2014 brought some change in the mind-set of people to keep the environment clean but as to how far this is successful, still the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai are existing where no proper hygienic conditions exist and people are surviving there. The people have to themselves bring a change in attitude as to keep the environment clean by not littering, preventing the usage of plastic, use of pollution free modes of transport and so on.

The concern for the planet Earth has to start from within us which can be improved by planting more and more trees conserving the forest and wildlife by preventing deforestation, throwing wastes in the water can lead to severe threat to sea life so we must control it.Control the emissions of highly toxic gases like the Bhopal Gas tragedy that occurred in 1984 which took lives of many people because of the gas Methyl Iso cyanate.

If we work together as a team we have every possible chance to conserve our planet earth and environment.

“This is where we live
Why are we hurting our home?
Live on our earth
Love our earth
This is the only one we have
Let’s save it”.
