The XISS Difference

Because XISS “Nurtures Professionals, with a Difference.”

"Luck is like lift , hard work are like stairs. Lift may fail sometime but stairs always take you to the top" . This is not just a mere quote, it is the reality in which everyone should live. For me, joining XISS was like an achievement that was a result of my dedication, perseverance and hard work along with the support of my parents and Gurus.

Joining a B-School is regarded as a cult phenomenon these days and as a BBA graduate, it was dream to join a Top B-School with unparalleled legacy, so the best was XISS to match my dream. Just like everyone has a dream institute, XISS was just like the one which I really wanted to study at. The journey to XISS was like a fairy-tale bliss for me. The excitement, enthusiasm and anxiety cannot be just translated into normal permutation or combination of words. From the filling of the Application Form, practising Group Discussions, interview preparations - every step was like a step towards a golden future.

I still remember there were  many groups created on WhatsApp and Telegram for practising Group discussion specific to XISS. I used be an active member of those groups too. The groups also consisted of several distinguished XISS alumni from the industry who helped the young aspirants for achieving better results. As the day for interview arrived, the excitement turned into nervousness, the zeal turned into a kind of some numbness but at last – all’s well that ends well. Finally when I saw my name in the Merit List of Department of Marketing, I was over the moon. It was a feeling that had great proportions of happiness, joy and I felt my future was secured to a great extent for me. Keeping the notion of success as a journey and not a destination, I then decided upon to carry this to become a successful manager in future and serve my organisation with the best of my efforts.

I had a great experience on the very first day at XISS. The speeches delivered by the faculty members of XISS and alumni were filled with motivation and key insights. The guest speakers too inspired me to become a successful person – professionally as well as personally.

I always have believed that talent does not exist, we are all people with equal potential. It's all about hard work and doing it best and right.
What I experienced in 7 days of my time at XISS and what inspired me the most is that XISS grills students’ minds and hearts, to such an extent that we automatically deliver the best. We have been given the best conducive environment to learn, practice and apply, along with dynamic competition. I hope when I finish my course at XISS, I will emerge with the ‘difference’ in me which XISS talks about and yes, I’m sure of it because XISS “Nurtures Professionals, with a Difference.”

Holi: The Festival of Colours

Holi: The Festival of Colours

With the arrival of March comes Spring and with it comes the festival of colours — Holi. Get ready to have loads of fun and enjoy the multitude of treats this Holi. A popular festival of India, it is looked forward to as it signifies the end of winter. It is celebrated across the country, though with different names and traditions. The festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil forces and helps to spread harmony and brotherhood in the society.

Holi is a two-day festival and is synonymous with harvest and prosperity. Holi starts on the day as bonfires with Holika effigies are lit. Many choose this day to get rid of unwanted things from their house. Day two is all about colours. Holi is celebrated the day after the full moon. It also commemorates the mythological tale of Prahlada emerging unscathed from the flames after being drawn into it by the demon. It is time to get out there with your friends and family and give them a different shade. A festival of colours and life, Holi is the most vibrant festival of India. Indian society is always known for the beauty, grace and wisdom embodied in the various festivals it has, thereby rejoices this India's rich cultural heritage.

We at XISS celebrate this festival in our own innovative way. We try to bring a smile on the faces of those underprivileged and disadvantaged people. Different departments of XISS visit their respective fields or the slum they have been assigned and indulge themselves with Celebrating and filling the life of these people with colour of happiness.

Through this festival, XISS fraternity seeks to promote the message of mutual respect and foster the common bond that various Indian festivals share. Inculcate and spread the real, subtle and deeper meaning behind this festival of colour and joy.
